Join us for New Orleans Jazz just in time for Mardi Gras! Celebrating over 40 years since their founding in 1977, New Orleans-based Dirty Dozen Brass Band has taken the traditional foundation of brass band music and incorporated it into a blend of genres including Bebop, Jazz, Funk and R&B/Soul. This unique sound, described by the band as a "musical gumbo," has allowed the Dirty Dozen to tour across 5 continents and more than 30 countries, record 12 studio albums and collaborate with a range of artists from Modest Mouse to Widespread Panic to Norah Jones. Celebrate Mardi Gras with Dirty Dozen Brass Band performing New Orleans jazz live and outdoors on our plaza!

World-famous New Orleans-based Dirty Dozen Brass Band takes the traditional foundation of brass-band music and incorporates it into a blend of genres, including bebop, funk and R&B/soul. It's a sound the band describes as a "musical gumbo."

Dirty Dozen has toured five continents and more than 30 countries, recorded 12 studio albums and collaborated with a range of artists from Modest Mouse to Widespread Panic and Norah Jones. Their genre-bending romps and high-octane performances have made them legends of New Orleans jazz over the past 40 years.

Jazz Roots on the Plaza is a series of outdoor, socially distanced performances on our Parker and Vann Thomson Plaza for the Arts.

Please note: Seating for this performance is purchased by the table.Locations are assigned in the order of purchase. All tables will be spaced a minimum of 6 feet apart in parties of up to four guests based on reservation type. Digital tickets for each member of the party will be available within 72 hours of the performance time.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with light bites and beverage service.
